My research involves the study of unusual electronic and magnetic phenomena in polymeric and molecular materials, including conducting polymers and ferromagnetic molecular and polymer materials. Structure property relationships and the effects of highly anisotropic intermolecular interactions (charge density waves, Peierls distortions, magnetic exchange, etc.) are a primary focus in these research efforts. Experimental techniques include spectroscopy from the far infrared to the ultra violet, photo-induced absorption spectroscopy, time-resolved spectroscopy, magnetic studies, and a full range of transport studies.
